Dental work is the procedure owners most often defer, and the one where deferring reliably costs more.

Why the price is a range

A conscious examination reads the crown and the gum line. The root, the bone around it and the furcation between roots are invisible without radiographs, and radiographs need an anaesthetic. So the assessment gives you a range, and the chart taken on the day converts the range into a number.

We call you during the procedure whenever the chart changes what needs doing. Nothing beyond the plan you agreed happens without that call.

What waiting changes

A scale and polish is one price. The same mouth eighteen months later is a scale and polish plus extractions, priced per tooth, plus the surgical time each one takes. The procedure has not become more expensive; the mouth has.

If cost is the reason for waiting, say so at the assessment. Staging the work over two anaesthetics is worse clinically and better financially, and that is a trade only you can make.
